Mrs. Kardong's Kindergarten Class Project "Shapes & Colors, Oh My!"
Mrs. Kardong's Kindergarten class used colorful glass shapes to make this fun 20"x14" fused glass sculpture. Each student arranged multiple glass pieces to create this class project. In order to sign their sculpture, the kids wrote their names and painted a swoosh indicating the color of the base piece they chose, which were framed and will accompany the glass sculpture. Thanks to Amy Archer for assisting the class with their wonderful work!

Ms. Holmes 1st Grade Class Project "Take Flight"
This art project, entitled "Take Flight", highlights wood as the art medium. The children noticed how the ink absorbed and spread into the wood before it dried. They had the opportunity to create a realistic butterfly or an abstract design. It was fun to see each personality come out in their design choice. They loved how each of their individual butterflies came together to create one unified piece of art and were very excited to have the opportunity to sell the piece to raise money for our PTA. If you look closely, you can see the names of the artists written on the butterfly wings. Thank you to Kelly Kupillas for helping with this pretty project!

Mrs. Cherry's 5th Grade Class Project "Storm Mirror"
What can you do with branches that have been ripped from our trees during a storm? Turn them into a mirror, of course!! The students from Mrs. Cherry's 5th grade class collected branches from the school trail that were blown off in the last wind storm. The branches, mostly from Douglas Fir trees, were cut into rounds and dried in the oven. The students then painted the rounds in solid colors or in concentric circles. Each round was affixed to a beautifully hand-crafted frame to create an everlasting work of art! Thank you to Tiffany & Chris Alegrete and Korista Smith-Barney for helping build this amazing work of art!
